About Taneka Collins
PLPC

Hello, I’m Taneka Collins.
Life can bring seasons that feel overwhelming, confusing, or heavy to carry alone. Having a supportive space to process experiences and rediscover your strength can make a meaningful difference. We are shaped by both joyful and challenging life experiences. Over time, the messages we internalize — whether spoken or unspoken — influence how we see ourselves and the world around us.
My approach to therapy is to walk alongside you, providing support, education, and encouragement while helping you reconnect with the strengths you already carry. Therapy is a collaborative space where you can safely explore your experiences, build insight, and move toward meaningful change.
I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and hold a Master’s of Counseling Education. I have served as an elementary school counselor for over 11 years, in addition to facilitating a women’s empowerment group ministry. I work with children (ages 7 and up), adolescents, and adult women. Areas I commonly support clients with include anxiety, emotional regulation, grief and loss, social skills, self-esteem, infertility and reproductive grief, school performance and behavior, and trauma.
In our work together, I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and faith-based counseling when desired. Together, we will create a supportive environment to explore your experiences, understand your thoughts and emotions, and develop practical tools for growth.
If you are ready to explore the season you’re in and move forward with greater clarity, strength, and confidence, I encourage you to connect with me.
