About Dana Combs
My name is Dana and I am a graduate of UMKC with a Masters of Arts in Counseling. My work with children of all ages spans 27 years, 16 of which include high school counseling. As a former elementary school teacher and high school counselor I understand the issues that children and parents are dealing with in today's times.
I have successfully counseled teens with anxiety, depression, and behavior disorders. Fostering healthy coping skills, sandtray play therapy and mindfulness techniques are some of the therapeutic strategies I have utilized.
I believe the relationship between the therapist and the client is most important for establishing effective change. By using a Client Centered Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Counseling, and Play Therapy, positive changes will happen in both thought and behavior. If you are a struggling parent, or have a child or adolescent going through a difficult time, know that you are not alone.
